Private for now...

See, dh and I, hopefully with my sister and BIL, are training for the Dec 1 Seattle HALF Marathon.
Plan is to walk it. We all hate running.
I ran for a few years and hated it. I ran an official 5k, and a 10k by myself. Hated it. And then I was the fat woman running who had someone compliment her while she was doing it. That was the last time I ran. It also sent me into an exercise/confidence/comfort death-spiral that left me feeling unsafe and judged in my beloved wildland park. I didn't go back for a long time. So running a half-marathon was never in the cards.
But walking one?
Maybe. Just maybe.
UW has a program for training for one, starting this week. It's geared towards working people, with two reasonable walks and one longer one each week. Cascade Bicycle Club used to have a similar one to prepare for the Seattle-to-Portland, then they took it down and we were not able to recreate it and indeed failed at the training one year as a result.
Maybe we can do it.
Maybe we can't.
But we're certainly going to try!
If we make it, I'll open up the posts with the tag on Dec 1st. Heh.
PS. I need to buy sparkly star stickers for our training chart! I'm all about stickers.
