Three things for Sunday

nwhiker1. The kids are home for the weekend and Perry is sick. Again. He claims that every time he does a 2k erg test (so in the boathouse), he gets sick after. Covid test was negative, and last time he also tested negative for flu and Covid. So I think it's just a viral "thing" but he's so miserable and whimpering on the couch. Poor sweet boyo.
2. I am more and more convinced that anyone who has the money and/or connections and even the slightest desire to do so should get out of the US. We're truly not headed in the right direction. Biden has done excellent things so far but is barely getting any credit for them, and indeed is at this point poised to lose reelection. We're living under the tyranny of a fascist-leaning minority and because of the guidelines of the republic put in the place by the fucking founding fathers too many glorify, things cannot change.
3. I'm finding myself very emotional at the news that Jimmy Carter has started hospice. He's done so many good things. The world would have been a very different place is that slimy shit Reagan hasn't won in 1980. But Carter turned his post-presidential years more into positive action than almost anyone else.
