Anne-Chloe lives alone. Ie no longer with jackass. She qualifies for subsidized housing.
Her rent for a tiny one-bedroom is $1300/month (a bargain, believe it or not). She can afford that.
Without the subsidy, it would be $1900. She can't afford that.
After a 1% merit raise, she makes too much money to qualify. $100 too much. A fucking YEAR.
For 27c a day, she's losing her housing. (*)
And we wonder why we have an unhoused problem in King County? There is no sliding scale. $100 per year would cost her $7200.
(*) She is probably going to have to move a few days before taking the MCAT and be packing while trying to work and do her prep-class.
Fuuuuck.
And FedEx appear to have lost the textbooks that she needs for the prep class and that were supposed to have been delivered. Last Friday. There is no updated delivery date. ETA Sunday 23 Jan. Books showed up today, so she at least has them.
