Menus 25 Oct - 31 Oct
25 Oct 2021 21:32Perry and Linnea may come down from uni next weekend. Fingers crossed. I planned menus with that in mind.
Monday: buffalo chicken (*) wraps with romaine.
Tuesday: chicken breakfast sausage (*), eggs, mushrooms? potatoes? OR peanut chicken curry. Haven't found lemongrass locally these past few times I've been shopping.
Wednesday: pork chops (*), roasted potatoes.
Thursday: chicken shawarma, naan, roasted cauliflower.
Friday: chicken Italian sausage with shredded cabbage, and rice.
Saturday: meatloaf (*) with mashed potatoes. (Perry wants to learn to make it, so a good opportunity if he's home).
Sunday: mapo tofu (*) with rice.
Green beans and mushrooms haven't been looking great recently, but I've been finding great Brussels sprouts. We've been eating them a lot. Yum.
Still trying to clear out freezers, and to a certain extent, pantry.

Date: 27 Oct 2021 04:56 (UTC)I do the same, olive oil, salt, usually no spices because nobody can agree on which ones. I remove as many leaves from the sprouts as possible before quartering them and putting then in the oven. Then after about 10 minutes I take 'em out, call anyone whose around, we eat the leaves that are crispy, put the rest back in the oven, repeat as many times as needed... but "dinner time" there are usually a scant few quarters left. I do the same with broccoli and cauliflower. I always marvel that even Perry, who has never met a veggie he wanted to have even a casual acquaintance with, will come running for crispies.
