Perry got into the biochemistry major, which is the one he was most hoping for, I think.

So yay! Major sigh of relief here, we were freaking out that he'd have to graduate with a BA rather than a BS.

Fuck. Nope. He got into the biochemistry BA program, which is pretty much for people who want to teach high school chemistry. He has already done most of the classes for that, and this will not gain him anything. Shit.

He needs the high level chem and biochem classes, and those are only available for the BS majors.

I am so fucking sick of competitive majors.

ETA Dh is pissed and is now planning on trying to find Perry a completely different university anywhere in the country. Because since they only do admissions to the majors twice a year, this sets him a full year behind. He -dh- understands that this moving him might not speed anything up, but he's pissed at the current sitch. All schools in Washington state have these, and they're admitting more and more students every year and not upping the number of seats in the majors.
