After a beautiful stretch of crisp clear fall days (mostly. There was some rain and some fog), woke up to a pouring rain Election Day.

It's grey and gloomy. I love it. I don't mind my PNW rains to be honest.

But I also headed out to my beloved wildland park for a tromp. I hadn't been in freaking forEVER. Between the parks being officially closed for a while, the request that we not drive to get outside, hurting my leg, business, and just general fall out of the habit, the whole summer went by since I was there, and a good part of the fall.

But I went today, did the shorter loop, since the rain was coming down hard.

And here is the issue. This is bizarre.

Normally I listen to my audio books using Overdrive. I never have any issues.

When I'm in the park? Google Assistant attempts to take over my phone, pushes the volume of the audio to the max and demands that I enable it.

I have nothing to contempt for Google products, so no way if fucking HELL will I enable that piece of spyware.

I have no idea why it starts, or why it happens there, but it's a pain in the ass because it pretty much ruins listening to my book for at least part of my ramble.

Rain still dumping.

Seen on twitter the other day, paraphrased.

People waiting in a long line to vote.

Car drives by, passenger calls out "How long have you been waiting?"

Someone from the back of the line "Four years!"

Pretty much how we all feel, right?

God, I can't beleive we're finally here.

Fingers crossed and thumbs held that this goes the way I hope it does.

Now excuse me while I bake some cookies.

Sick of Florida.

Sick at the data coming in so far. Not looking good, well, anywhere. :(

17:11

Oh god. They're talking about how much better Dems are doing in counties in Ohio and Texas compared to 2016. That's nice, assholes, stop trying to sound so fucking positive when we lost Ohio and Texas in 2016, and we're going to lose them this time too.

17:17

Goddammit. Mitch McConnell won his race. Fuuuuuck.

Nate Silver over at 538 is trying to back off his predictions of an 89% Biden win. Yet again, it looks like, miraculously, at the very last minute, everything broke for Trump.

17:34

My sister is heading to the emergency vet with her dog who had surgery last week. Not good there either. Ugh.I'm really feeling sick.

17:54

People keep on saying not to panic. Sorry, PTSD from 2016, maybe, but I'm in a complete, sick, panic.

Also, from exit polls: WTF Hispanics, voting for Trump is much higher margins than 2016? And WTF with 56% of Americans thinking they are better off now than 4 years ago. 4 years ago, I didn't have to wear a mask and I was looking forward to the holidays with my family.

18:12

We haven't picked up anything we were supposed to pick up, and we appear to have lost a lot of high profile races. People keep on saying 'it's ok, all the votes are not counted yet', but this is exactly 2016, take 2.

Damn, I hope I'm wrong.

Took time off to read a book, too sickening to watch the horrid results. They're just as horrid now, but.

I cannot beleive that man is going to get another four years.

Graham kept his job.

Doug Jones lost his.

It all seems to rest on Dumbfuckistan North. Again. And they'll no doubt let us down again. Ugh.

I'm going to bed. Or at least tuning out news sources and working on my novel/novella. I kinda wish I'd done NaNoWriMo now.

22:53

A lot of people on twitter are optimistic. They must be looking at different data than me, or we're not interpreting it in the same way.

God, I feel so sick.
