OMG. So Linnea's bday is this week, and it's horrifying to realize that this is the last childhood birthday. I had a hard time grasping that.

But anyhow, of course it's complicated, because it's Linnea, with two big friend groups, in the middle of a pandemic.

Last year they danced around my living room to the Macarena and sang American Pie.

That ain't happening this year.

Plan: Thursday I have to be in Bellingham to get some lab work done. I will be making GF and dairy free cakes the day before. Linnea is having her college aged friends over, they'll socially distance on the deck, they're pretty good about that. They'll be getting take out, with no sharing. Thai, I think. Or maybe pizza if we can get that GF. Or who the eff knows what. Thai, and I'll make the rice, some green onion pancakes, and if TJ's still carries them, the lemongrass stix that everyone in my family loves. Plus curry. I will set up stations with each dish 6 ft apart and either give each girl a serving utensil to use on all, or have them wear gloves, I have some. I dunno.

Friday: Brunch. AC is working graveyard, so she can't make anything in the evening, so we'll do a family brunch. I wish that meant that Dipshit couldn't make it, but alas, he'll be there. Ugh. He really puts a damper on celebrations. We can do that outside as well.

Friday during the day, Perry, dh, and I will be delivering cupcakes around the area to Linnea's friends. I actually bought cupcake holders (too many, because of course she'd told me there would be more kids than there are going to be and since so many live nearby, I didn't mind, but now I have 50 cupcake holder boxes...)

Then Zoom party that evening. With the delivered cupcakes.

Saturday, dh will be working (since he's taking off Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday), I think, and the rest of us will be prepping to...

Head out camping on the Washington Coast. We'll be meeting up with my sister, BIL, and mom again, they'll have their humongo RV in the site next to our tent.

One bit of grr: for the past two years, I have not been able to get campsites at Kalaloch, my fave NP campground. Well, I can get some sites, but all the good waterfront ones are snapped up, probably by bots, and booked for two weeks in the first seconds they become available. As in, my request is hitting at 7:00:01, and it'd already be too late. Dh would be trying from work with their faster net connection, and no dice. They were closed for the longest time and Covid kinda made me stop looking, but I'm really annoyed that even 6 months out, it's impossible to book. For the record, before this newest iteration of the website I was able to book waterfront sites less than a month out for for at least five years in a row, so yeah, something changed.

I do think they need to make a change with the primo ocean view spots and not allow them to be booked for more than two nights. All through the late winter and spring, we (my sister, BIL, dh, and I) monitored and tried to get anything on the water, and everything was always booked in two week chunks.
