Virginia lawmakers pass Equal Rights Amendment in historic vote.

Yes, I know the corrupt people at the DOJ have said the Amendment has expired. And that several red backwater states have decided to rescind their ratification. I think -I hope!- those are both ruled unconstitutional, as by all accounts not from right wingers they should be.

I did not expect to start weeping when I read of Virginia's ratification.

I hate abandoning books...

I hate abandoning books unfinished. It truly annoys me and if I can, I'll persist to the very bitter end.

I was trying to read _Gingerbread_ by Helen Oyeyemi but 50 pages in, when it was clear that this was tabled with fantasy because it was magical realism, and I didn't care about what little bits of story there were... I decided to dump it.

I tend to truly not like magical realism and don't usually read anything with that description, but I downloaded two books yesterday in a crisis because it looked like we were going to lose power again and I needed a few books on my Kindle!
