nwhikerOne of the dudes out of the boathouse Perry rows out of has started his summer program as of this morning.
Perry found out yesterday afternoon.
He's home, and was at the boathouse this morning at 5:30 am. Needless to say, that's all it took for him to decide that living at home wasn't so bad after all.
However, at this point, he isn't working at the boathouse, so this is all pay-pay-pay. We're covering most of this, in exchange for either yard work or money (from what he earned last year). We told him we'd rather the yard work!
And I'm trying to come up with a chores list for the summer/maybe next fall that doesn't lead us all to become frustrated with each other. I told Linnea that she and Perry needed to come up with a schedule to make sure their bathroom gets cleaned and she insists that she was to clean it 100% of the time, but I told her that if she decided that Perry wasn't allowed to help, she wasn't allowed to complain that he didn't (that was the problem last summer).
We'll see.
I'm also going to have them make dinner once a week each. Linnea has already decided that she was going to to mac and cheese every week on her day, I think she's hoping that we'll get bored of her choice and let her off the hook. I offered to buy a Costco size bundle of mac and cheese.
Perry is making risotto this week. I asked what veggie he wanted to make with it. Veggie? he asked. OK. Well.
