Cold cold cold...
4 Feb 2020 16:58It's snowing, if not sticking, outside.
I just got home from the lab, where it was also snowing. It's almost 5pm.
And the house is freezing. Well, not quite freezing, it temps at 61F. Which is damn cold, but technically not freezing.
Thermostat shows a message from 12:34 today that says, essentially, heat has been called for, the furnace has not responded, the temp in the house is down 5 degrees since then.
Yeah, and getting colder.
Dh isn't answering his texts.
There are things I can do. Diagnosing the furnace is not one of them. I'm taking my Kindle and heading to the library. At least there is heat there.
5 Feb. Dh has got the furnace working again. It started back up after he looked at it last night, though he was not sure why, then stopped working late last night. He headed down in his bathrobe, figured out what was wrong, and fixed it, at least temporarily, this morning. A new part is probably needed, though he's going to wait to make sure: replacing an older made-in-the-US part with cheap shit made in China that will fail in 5 years is not always the best solution. Anyhow, have heat now, which is good.
