School buses

School buses are the bane of traffic. I mean, things improve immediately on the commute during school holidays when those beasts aren't stopping traffic every few minutes.

On the drive to my walk I got caught behind the bus. I hate it when it happens at that location, because the damn bus stops every freaking driveway, even if they are less than 30ft or so apart. It took forever.

Then I thought of a brilliant idea that will hopefully never be implemented: if the navigation apps phones could get school bus telemetry data and suggest routes accordingly. While I don't need nav to get to my morning walk, knowing that the school bus is right ahead of me... well, I'd rather sit at home a few extra minutes than sit on the road behind the bus....

It's a terrible idea from a child safety etc standpoint, but man it would make some driving days easier!

school buses that stop at every house? wow! around here they have communal stops. and everyone says the commute is easier on days without school, because so many people drive their kids to school (due to limited busing, esp at the high school level). I don't know that it's true, but that's what people say.
