This is the type of thing that drives me bug-fuck.

About a month ago I bought Linnea a Very Expensive pair of running shoes. She'd been having some pain issues, so we went to the running store, gait analysis, expensive shoes.

She had a regatta near Portland the other week, and I told her in NO uncertain terms NOT to bring those shoes, because it's a beach launch, and they'd get ruined. I told her to use her old shoes. She screamed at me that I was stupid etc.

You can see where this is going right?

Last night I found the expensive new shoes in a knotted trash bag, soaking wet, and REEKING.

She's upset -no duh- and so am I. I know she's upset that she ruined her shoes. But reacting by screaming at me is not acceptable.

Dh washed them once, but they still reek, and to be honest, after almost two weeks in a warm wet environment, there is no way those shoes are never going not to reek.

I will not be buying her a new pair of shoes. Since she's a profligate spender who went to two "cons" recently, she has no money, so the shoes are going to have to be worn, as disgusting as they are.

Ugh.
