Three things for Sunday

1. We saw Linnea today, had lunch with her. She's doing great. She's so freaking good at adulting, it impresses me every single time. And she's in a good boat, and that's making her very happy, which is awesome. She's headed to California next week for the best West Coast Regional meet (Perry used to go), and I'm vexed because I didn't get tickets, not knowing if she'd be going and now, what with stupid work, I don't have time to drive. Sigh.

2. Went to visit the tulips today. They were absolutely lovely. The weather was ok, the crowds were... well, could have been a lot worse, and we saw so many gorgeous flowers. And took 199 photos, LOL.

3. I'll write a longer post about it when I can, but I'm so fucking pissed at Lilly Pharmaceuticals, it isn't even funny.

Appreciated the tulip photos! We’re going to be on the Netherlands just after the Keukenhof tulip festival ends, but based on what I’m reading we should be able to bike past flower fields anyway

Oooh, that'll be gorgeous! We used to bike around the fields here (and there was great organized ride that we did many a time) but it's gotten too dangerous and the growers have wised up and most of the tulip fields are no longer easily accessible.

Anyhow, just remember one thing, and this is both from tulip fields here AND biking in the Netherlands with my BFF many many years ago: check early and often to see if you have a tailwind. You might not notice it until you turn around and it turns into a nasty tailwind. Serious voice of experience speaking, LOL.

good advice! That happened to us on the Lakeshore Trail in Chicago last fall - on bikeshare bikes (limited shifting options) - but i probably wouldn't have paid attention without a reminder.
