I have to keep reminding myself that Turkey Day is next week. It seems like it should be further off...

Anyhow, menus for this week. Some freezer cleanout but also got a book from the library called _The Chinese Takeout Cookbook_.

Monday: spicy hoi sin chicken.
Tuesday: pizza in Perry's cast iron skillet.
Wednesday: leftovers.
Thursday: BBQ pork fried rice (also from the book).
Friday: chicken marsala with flat noodles.
Saturday: meatloaf and mash (dh request).
Sunday: hummus and pita chips.

Some freezer cleanout but also got a book from the library called _The Chinese Takeout Cookbook_ by Kwoklyn Wan. I made the hoi sin chicken from there and it was pretty mediocre. Obviously, the basis of the dish is hoisin sauce, so maybe my brand isn't the best (it's just one I picked up from Uwajimaya), but I hoped that the vinegar would balance it at least a bit, but no. It was truly just chicken with hoisin sauce, any variation due to the vinegar and soy was too subtle for me to taste.

I want to try his fried rice recipe. It relies on oyster sauce, which is always iffy for me since some oyster sauces tastes fishy and some do not.
