I started in the mid-90s, reading the first few books of the Wheel of Time series. I bogged down in book 5, iirc, and let them be for a decade or so.
Robert Jordan died and Brandon Sanderson finished the series.
A few years back, I picked them back up from book 1, and read them all. Yes, the problems that I had the first time around were still there, but I pushed through them.
I finished the last book today.
So many things I expected happened.
One thing I did not expect did spoiler page break AND white fonted:
Egwene! Oh but that hurt. My fave, along with Elayne and Moiraine. I was so hoping Min and Faile with get killed off, but no joy on that. Egwene's death broke my heart, and I started to cry, and I don't think I've really stopped since then. And poor sweet shaggy brave-hearted Bella. Still crying.
I can't believe I'm done. These books have been a constant part of my reading life for so many years.
Ah well. Series on Amazon later this fall. But OMG. I can't believe I'm done.
