1. Dh, Linnea, Perry, and I went to Picnic Point Park last evening for a sunset picnic. Anne-Chloe had a prior commitment, or I think she would have come. It was nice. The beach is meh, I prefer Carkeek Park, and there were no trains (one Amtrak zoomed by just as we were pulling into the parking lot). Threw rocks, saw what I think was a sea lion from afar, ferries, and the sunset. A nice Pac NW evening picnic with family.

2. One thing that has left me sad, though. A helicopter flew overhead and I checked its flight path on my flight tracking app. It was coming from Children's Hospital. I wished them luck, because oh god, whatever, helicopters from the hospital isn't a good thing. Perry and I followed it on the app as it flew to St Joseph's Medical Center in Bellingham. The whole thing is sticking in my brain. I hope the outcome was as good as it could be.

3. When my Fitbit Flex -my precious!- stopped holding a charge for more than a few hours, I was pretty upset. Because I already hate the fact that scum at Google were going to get their filthy paws on my data, but giving them even more was driving me batty. And I hate hate hate the fact that all these fitness things have become HUMONGOUS and clunky, nothing like my sleek Flex. I ended up getting the Charge 4, and locking it down so tight it only measures steps and I think sleep, not allowing it to access my email/texts/phone. Predictably, I hate it, it's big. So. Today at Costco, what do I find? The Fitbit Luxe, which while still needing to be protected from the Google cockroach slime, is at least esthetically pleasing and not a gigantic slab. Grrr. Having just bought this stupid Charge 4 and extra bands for it (learned my lesson with the Flex, when they discontinued the bands and left me to find replacements on ebay), I can't really justify another $140 just for a better form factor. Ugh.
