nwhiker24 years and 30 minutes ago, my baby girl was born.
My sweet baby has had a rough year. Her dipshit bf broke up with her in... February, I think. She injured herself at her first power lifting meet. Her knee went to crap, culminating in surgery last week.
OTOH, she's doing great in the classes she's taking (for med school/MCAT prep) and is f.i.n.a.l.l.y. medicated for ADHD again. Funny how college classes aren't as daunting when you can actually focus for more than a nanosecond!
She's still as independent and self-driven as she always was, something that was completely squashed when she was with dipship, but is reasserting itself now. She has A Plan and is following it, after a few years of, well, drifting.
She's truly a fun person to be around, bright, and cynical in a good way.
It's also been wonderful to see how close she is to her siblings. It was hard, because nobody liked the boyfriend, but now there is a true tightness between the three of them that makes me very happy.
I hope this year is a good one for her. She deserves it.
