A bit more detail

I got a few more details from Perry.
1. He had plenty of time to cross and the coach whose boats they "cut off" hadn't been concerned at all. There had been time for all of them to cross, even the slowest, but yes, more margin would be safer.
2. He hadn't expected the others to follow him, but acknowledged that he should have.
3. Their coach? Gets angry, puts them on land to erg for the rest of the session, lets it be known very clearly why, and then it's over. There are no grudges held.
So eh. She feels a bit better.
ETA This was written yesterday, but I forgot to post it. It refers to events from Friday and Saturday, LOL.
Linnea is on the couch moping. Perry made a judgement error on the water this morning, and she -and the rest of the team, from older HS kids to college students- followed him. She's beating herself up for following him. And yes, they all got in trouble, Perry in particular, fwiw. Perry's been rowing for 9 years now and I've never heard of him EVER making a judgement error on the water. As in, ever. As in his former coach actually mentioned that at a senior sports dinner, that in her years of coaching Perry he'd been 100% reliable on the water. Anyhow, Linnea is devastated because of this. To add to her misery, just as they were leaving the dock in the launch, I came to pick her up, and Perry had to return to the dock to drop her off. She's terrified that the head coach is going to get on his case, -and hers- for that too. I think she's stressed and tired, all these days of getting up at 3:45am are getting to her.
