After we watched Linnea's race finish, we went to the merch tent to get her haul (we always get them something) and then went to the car. Since parents were not supposed to officially be there, we tried to stay as little time as possible near the main event.
Linnea went to de-rig her boat. Later I asked her if she'd gotten Perry his sunglasses, he'd forgotten them when he left I drove them down. Yes, she said, and he actually gave me a hug.
Aw, so sweet, proud older brother.
Only Perry tells a slightly different story. When he saw her, she was bouncy, jump up and down ecstatic at winning her race, gave him a hug and didn't let go, but he said she was super happy and super excited. He seemed very pleased with that. I mean... just happy that she was so happy.
By the time we picked her up, she was still pleased, but not in full Linnea-happy-bouncy mood. I'm glad Perry got to see that. I hope he remembers. That type of memory is precious.
Tomorrow, I'll tell the story of AC's first weight lifting competition. OMG. Too tired to do it justice tonight.
