Not good news

nwhikerMy mom was supposed to have her biopsy today, but she woke up with a fever. Sis took her to the ER this afternoon, when she got worse.
Three things:
-- they admitted her for the pneumonia they found. Of course, not in the hospital in Bend which is packed with Covid patients, but at the one in the town over.
-- the tumor has grown since it was last imaged. Not evidence -that they mentioned at this point- of anything else.
-- the biopsy has been scheduled for today, which means it did not happen, so we still don't have a firm grasp of what kind of cancer this might be, or what kind of mutations it may have.
Basically, we're in the same 'wait and get more data' as we were prior, except we now know it's growing fast and oh hai, pneumonia.
I'll call sis and BIL tomorrow to find out if they want me to come down tomorrow, or wait until early next week. If she's just going to be getting IV abx in the hospital over the weekend, it's probably best for me to wait so I can be at any potential doctor appointments. I'm pretty much packed, all laundry is done, so I can hop in the car and go whenever.
The reason early next week would work better is that I get my second vaccine dose on Sunday. I can get it on Saturday, but not tomorrow, sigh. The place I'm scheduled to get it is on one route down to Bend, so I can also leave directly after getting it. I have no idea what I'm babbling about.
