The long post I lost
8 Apr 2021 23:30I wrote a long post about how things were going here, with Anne-Chloe at home (damn, she's so awesome and fun to be around) and other random shit, but our internet has been flakey, and bad things happened and my post flew away into the ether never to be seen again.
Ah well.
But a few things:
-- people who are working in the biology building: there are very few of us going in... so how about everyone makes an effort to keep the common areas appropriately stocked? Yes, I know undergrads used to take care of that, but bringing an empty bottle of ethanol back to your own lab to refill is better than leaving all the bottles empty in the tissue culture room. Faculty have keys to the stock room, grab a box of gloves when you finish the previous one, damn it. I've had to go out of my way to find the stock room manager to pick up gloves three times in the past three weeks, for three different common area labs. Shit like that drives me nuts, especially when there is time critical stuff.
-- people who are working in the biology building: take your damn dishes out of the freaking autoclave! And bring back the damn autoclave bins that are hiding in your labs. I had to do two runs today because I only had the one bin that belongs to our lab, all the other (dozen or so) common use ones have disappeared. Also, the long autoclave gloves!
-- people who are working in the biology building: whomever went to get ice and left the ice scoop in the machine, which meant I had to dig around to find it.... Really? There is a sign on the damn ice machine that says to leave the scoop on top or it will get buried.
Ah well.
