Finally remembered to buy some of that Impossible Burger meat or whatever it's called.

That shit is WEIRD. Like. WEIRD.

They weren't great because we used the usual burger protocol but didn't notice that there was only 12oz of meat so they came out a bit too seasoned. Texture and taste -despite Linnea's claim that they tasted like plants and dirt- were pretty close to regular beef.

I'm not overly fond of beef, they'd be fine for me.

Pros are that they're plant based, I guess. Cons are cost and they're higher fat/calories than what I usually get the rare times we eat burgers.

But very strangely meatlike.

We've tried both (Impossible and Beyond) and Zane-the-vegetarian prefers one over the other but I have a hard time remembering which. (Checked our text history, turns out he prefers Impossible.) The first time I had a bite of a burger I wasn't all that impressed but maybe that was a Beyond burger. I had a packet of Impossible that we didn't use up while Zane was here during Christmas break, and I used it in empanadas and no one was the wiser. (Previous time I'd used it in a dish, Cassie noticed and wasn't all that keen.)

Isn't it weird though? When David cooked it.. it juiced. Just NO.

Linnea is totally with Cassie.
