Gut check me?

Can someone -if anyone is reading, LOL- gut check me on this one?

This skeet was written by someone I both like and respect, and someone I consider to be an educator, and a damn good one, as well as a gifted scientist.





This seriously sits wrong with me. It feels... completely different, and that comparing a hideous government created situation with what appears to be a stranger abduction is rather insensitive.

ICE is killing people, both on the street and in custody. Not going to deny this. However, their primary goal is not murder and/or murder and abduction. Their intent, while nefarious from a human and humane standpoint, is not criminal and is at least "legal adjacent".

These things are not the same. The probability of getting a loved one out of detention alive is much higher than the probability of getting someone back alive after a stranger abduction.

So yeah. Both are bad, but tbh, I'd rather my loved one taken by ICE than some random person in the middle of the night.
