Three things for Sunday
14 Jul 2024 18:091. "There's no place in America for political violence," says Biden. He's wrong. There should not be any place for political violence, but the MAGAts don't seem to see it that way and aside from one Bernie Sanders supporter, all the violence has been on their side, not ours. Of course they're all waily-waily right now about the GodKing having been hurt. They've said, when it was schoolkids torn apart by AR-15 that we need to move on, we need to get over it, and it's not the moment to politicize a tragedy and blah blah blah. Well, DJT has reaped what he's sown and got off lightly. Thoughts and prayers, LOL. They can fuck all the way off, and I hate that we have to be adults and not mock them like they mocked Paul Pelosi.
2. I picked up some prints today that I bought myself for my birthday from dh/me and my mom and sister. The prints are as spectacular as I'd hoped, I'm quite excited. Now I just have to get them framed, probably in a month or so. I'll post pix then.
3. It is so hot. So fucking hot. These days in the high 80s/low 90s just keep on coming, we've beaten records. It didn't used to be this way. I mean, these past few years, we've gone from cool days of late spring/early summer to bam, 85+ days, rather than a few days on the mid 70s, ie a bit warm, but not hot. This is just so awful. My garden is dry and not doing well. We never had to water before, or only, really, for a few days, I think we're going to need to get our drip irrigation back in service (we installed it years ago when we were establishing rose bushes, but not for the past oh, twenty years or so.) Others have it worse, in other areas. Still, we have long, grey winters, often with rain days on end (prefer that to heat days on end, tbh) and our compensation had been beautiful summer days, warm but not hot. Now, it's hot, and we're just watching the news and waiting for Fire Season to follow this beastly heat. Global warming rather sucks.
