What happens when...
20 Oct 2021 09:45Oh man, this is kinda scary, but funny at the same time.
So. Perry had to drop 10lbs to get into a lightweight class for Head of the Charles. Everyone -including some very high up people in the rowing world- said it wouldn't be a problem, that he was easily a racing lightweight.
Me? As I think I've said before, I never thought there was enough fluff on Perry to, well, easily allow him to get down to 160lbs/72.5 kg.
However, with the last minute getting into HOCR, there wasn't much choice, and it had to be done reasonably quickly.
He's pretty close, being about 2-3lbs at most above weight, which is apparently where he's supposed to be according to everything he's been told.
The good news is that he can weight in almost 24 hours before his race, rather than just a few hours, so if he can make weight Friday (and doesn't have to resort to Desperate Measures overnight, iykwimaityd), he can have dinner and breakfast.
Anyhow, we got some photos. The boy is not just ripped, he's painfully thin, imo. I mean, he hurts when he hugs, and his jawbone is like a knife in a waaaay too thin kinda way. Here he is hamming it up. Under the cuts, because shirtless boyo.

Man, I'll be much happier about this whole event once he has managed to weigh in. IF he manages to weigh in. And considering the cost of this little event, he'd better, LOL.
