A d*g in the house

Me: BamBam is drinking the dog's water.
Dh: If I ingest the demon I can defeat it.
Me: Homeopathic demon?

OK. So. D*g.

Anne-Chloe and her ex are taking his bff camping this weekend (not the best time to be at the coast, my friends, but eh, their choice, I'd have done mountains, cold, but less windy and wet.) She asked us to take her d*g last night through Sunday.

Nader was trained by a friend of theirs and dh's, R trains service dogs, which is what Nader was supposed to be. He left for final training in California, but failed and was sent back to R, because of separation anxiety. He is so well behaved it's almost scary... no, I mean, really. The dogs you were about who are under voice control? Nader actually is, though Anne-Chloe never ever takes him off leash if that isn't allowed. He's totally mellow, and even I am not nervous around him anymore.

Twisp and Auri seem to have resigned themselves to the addition. Nader has been to visit several times since AC and Chris broke up (dog is officially hers, even if he does still take care of him/keep him when AC can't etc), so the wegies have gotten used to him and seem to regard him with curiosity rather than fear and loathing.

Fear and loathing, however, are BamBam's attitude. He's skittish, his floof suit is on most of the time, and his ears are down. Not a happy cat, poor boy. I think he may actually have stopped bullying Auri for now. He's skittish and nervous, and when he has to walk around the dog, does so very very gingerly and very very quietly, it would be funny to watch if it wasn't so sad. I just hope he doesn't go total stressball on us and block, which would means weeks of bloody (literally) cat pee all over the place.

It's going to be a looooong weekend.
