Three things for Sunday
22 Aug 2021 11:411. 2020 was a flat out miserable year. 2021? Unless things change quickly I think it will be remembered as "How it started... then 2021 has other ideas..."
2. Two paper books I'd been waiting for for a while showed up on the same day at the library. I can't manage my paper holds (I won't subscribe to the library's privately owned system) so I couldn't slow one down. Then I had to turn away -sob!- an ebook that I've been desperate for and that just came out, because I have these two paper books. All this means that I'm currently reading three non-fiction books, one of them a rather dense academic tome, and I have 30% left on a fantasy book that I'm going to have to make last for a while. LOL.
3. Linnea is supposed to visit my brother and family in Baton Rouge, leaving 31 Aug. I'm not sure I really want her to go, I'm a bit concerned about this. My sister, BIL, and mom were supposed to fly down as well, so it was going to be a bit of a party, but now my sister is wondering if they should go. We'll be talking this afternoon, hopefully we'll come to some sort of consensus. I'd HATE to deprive Linnea of her vacay, and knowing her she'd a) blame me and b) not be willing to see that IF we did decide to cancel, it would be a thought out decision. I know the metrics are different for my sister/BIL/mom, being older adults, but still, the thought of hospitals with no beds is terrifying. Ah well. We shall see.
