Three things for umm Monday

A day late, because it didn't feel like the end of the weekend yesterday (because it wasn't). So Three Things for Monday it is, at least this week.

1. Dh spent the weekend staining the deck, it looks great, and the cats are enjoying the open doors.



2. Yeah, no, NSM. We're having MIL (sigh), SIL (UGH), nephew (yay!) and AC (double yay!) over for a Memorial Day dinner. We decided on dinner at 6:30, which is early for us, and imo will make eating outside unpleasant because it's fucking HOT today here. Officially 77F right now, whic is TOO FUCKING HOT and it will get hotter yet. So anyhow, dh suggested telling his mother and sister to come over "at about 3.". Nope, nopity nope. I don't think so. Because if they do? It means he spends the next few hours dealing with the meat and I get to entertain my MIL, who has complained incessantly about the same things and people for the past decade and refuses to do anything about it, and my SIL who is just not someone I have anything to talk about with. So no, they can come at 5.

3. AC came over with her dog, Nader. I don't like dogs, but this one is as close to inert as one can be without being Xenon. The cats had.... a mixed reaction. BamBam who has met dh's aunt's dogs freaked out, big tail etc. Auri was curious and approached pretty close. She tried to stare him down, all 10lbs of her vs 94 of him, and ended up ignoring him. Twisp was magnanimously indifferent.
