Another scrimmage

Linnea had another scrimmage this morning... the other team didn't have any girls singles, so she and the other two girl's doubles from her team raced against the boys singles.

Linnea and Sam, after the heat, came in first in the final among the girls. They were significantly slower than the 12 of the 15 boy's boats.

I sometimes forget the difference... I mean, Perry in his single, is about as fast as a women's 4x... so I was not completely surprised to see the boys singles winning, but it's still always jarring to realize just how much faster the boys are than the girls.

But one dad, whose son lost to two of the three girls boats in their final (it was final C, so the slowest of the lot) was just crowing to some other dads that it had taken girl's doubles to beat his son, very clearly doesn't have a good grasp at just how much faster most of the boys were. LOL.

I love rowing in the morning!
