When push comes to shove and all things are distilled down to the quintessence, I don't think Linnea will ever find better books than BabyMouse.
She can read at a higher level -no duh-, but for some reason, BabyMouse appeals to so many parts of her that i suspect they will always be her comfort books.
She learned to read out of sheer stubbornness, wanting to be able to read Mo Wilem's Piggy and Gerald books herself. BabyMouse picked up where Piggy and Gerald left off, giving her a reading opportunity (remember, dyslexia) that also made her happy.
I have my own comfort books, so I get that.
And now she has found, in one of the BabyMouse books an image of BabyMouse herself in a four, complete with oar and cox. She wants that image. How do I get Random House to sell me a copy?
