The Elgin Marbles
19 Feb 2020 11:33I'm LOL'ing at Greece's bid to get the Elgin Marbles back from the British Museum under a Post-Brexit trade deal with the EU.
Obviously, I hope Greece gets them back. They were no doubt stolen by Lord Elgin, and they belong in Athens.
The only very week argument for keeping them in London, and it's a very selfish one indeed, is that more people do get to see them in London than ever will/would in Athens.
Still, I'd have loved to see curator's face when that little bombshell dropped.
