For anyone reading Kristen's Cashore's Graceling and Fire books, the third one, Bitterblue just showed up from my pre-order at amazon.
Texting with the 14yo:
Me: Bitterblue
Her: Yesssssssssssss!
Good books all. I do usually warn because while they're perfectly fine, I know some people are uncomfortable with young women having -gasp!- sexual agency portrayed in a positive manner, and one scene in _Graceling_ is a bit more explicit than usual for young adult books. Nothing that a 12 yo, say, couldn't handle, but the books were good enough that Perry, then 9, wanted to read them. We listened on CD and just skipped that one passage with him.
( Some details about the scene and thus spoilers under the cut )
I'm pretty sure I reviewed both books here, if I can find the links to my reviews, I'll post them.
