Quite pleased...

A few weeks back I realised that dh was never going to do it, so if I wanted the ring I'd been promised for Christmas, I'd need to get it myself.

I found it almost right away. There were a few kinds in silver, and there was one I really liked. I didn't particularly like the stones though: either a blue topaz or an amethyst. Don't get me wrong, I like both stones, but they were facet cut, and I wanted a softer look.

We went back and forth with the jeweler, and finally decided on a moonstone. I love those.

Then once I had a idea and a quote, I brought dh in. I was getting it no matter what, hee, but I did want him to have a look.

Anyhow, I picked it up today. I love it, it's pretty much exactly what I wanted.

I have not been able to get a good picture, this one will have to do!



And here you can almost see -photo isn't great- the triskele on the "other" side. There is one on each side, very understated.



For the record, I went to Foxfire Jewelers. They're my local jeweler, do all the work on site etc. What I really appreciated: the fact that I came in for a ring that is, relatively speaking, cheap, and yet they worked with me as if it were a much larger commission.

I'm quite pleased. I don't really wear jewelry, usually only my earrings because I have to (the holes won't close and I think my ears look dorky with no earrings and holes), and this is rather uncharacteristic of me.

What was characteristic? Linnea almost passing out from the awesomeness of a store full of such beautiful stuff... and her telling the jeweler that when she grew up she was going to have her boyfriend, husband to be, buy her all this beautiful stuff. He told her to grow up, get an education and a job and be independent, and he'd be happy to sell her anything she wanted! :-) Hee.
