I have an ethical dilemma I need help with.

Some of you -though I doubt it- may remember my post from a few months back about a dead fly in my toaster.

No fly corpse was ever found, either in the toaster or elsewhere, and it was a big nasty fly.

End result is that I stopped using the toaster. No. Can. Do. The kids, who eat toast very rarely continued to use it from time to time, but I'm the person who likes toast in the house, and I used the broiler.

And burned many a slice of bread, but that isn't the point of this post.

After a few weeks of the toaster not being used, I took it off the counter. Nobody noticed for the longest time. Then Linnea decided she wanted toast, and all of a sudden, the rest of the noticed that it had been gone.

That said, I cannot beleive Linnea ate fly-infused toast. Not that a fly has ever been found, of course. But still!

I decided I wanted a new toaster. End of statement. This one does four slices at a time, and we rarely use that feature, it's too big to fit in the "toaster spot" on the counter, so the fly was a good excuse, if a gross one, and one that meant no-toaster until a new toaster is procured.

Which it will be, either from amazon or Target. I did check Costco, but OMG, their toasters are bulbous and gigantic.

Here is the dilemma. My plan is to toss the toaster in the trash. Because it might have had a fly in it.

Dh and AC think I'm being ridiculous, and it should be donated or freecycled.

What say you people?
