On music...
21 Jan 2010 21:45I listen to Pandora. I've been trying to train -well, dh and I work at this together!- towards heavy metal. Overall it's pretty good, I don't think I've had to turn down a song for a long time.
Today I did.
It played this:
Ummm.... No. Light rock, with a country-ish voice, but not metal. Don't listen. Really. Unless you like light rock. We don't.
As dh said: "If it doesn't have a driving base groove and double kick drums, I don't want to hear it".
Which brings up... MIL was here the other day and we had Sonata Arctica on. She was wondering what the fluttering noise was, some defect in our sound system. No, that flutter would be the double kick drums.
All this reminds me that TSO is touring, but not the West Coast -what's with that?- and so is Kamelot. They'll be in California, but not Seattle, Portland, or Vancouver. I may have to drive down to SF for that one. If my MIL will watch the kids... I mean, I'll keep AC out of school for 1/2 day for a concert, or even a day, but back and forth to SF... ummm... maybe not, huh?
