Thirty years.
12 Dec 2020 15:48Today dh and I are celebrating our 30th anniversary. We didn't get married until a few years later, though. I would have gotten married on the 12th but since we had people coming from a few continents, I didn't think they'd appreciate being invited to a wedding just too far from Christmas to be a pain. So we got married on the 21st, flipping the date!
Anyhow.
30 years.
It's been a long time, but it's been good. I love my spouse. I truly feel very lucky that I've been privileged enough to spend a good portion of my life with him. He's funny and kind, and so very bright. He makes me laugh, he makes me think, and I know I'm a better person because of him.
My only regret, and fuck Trump for this, is that we'd planned on being in Scandinavia and Iceland this year: it's, as I said, 30 years since we got together, and 24 since we got married and with the dates aligning, the plan was to spend basically the 12th-21st travelling around. But we're stuck at home, can't even go out to dinner.
