nwhikerSo many stories that are going to end poorly start with "A Florida man..."
Well, so does this one, only the man is Ron DeSantis, and he won't make the Covid-19 vaccine mandatory.
Which, you know, is not good. Mandatory doesn't mean you line up and the vaccine or else, it means that if you don't get the vaccine, it's harder to get into school, work in a hospital etc. In some places it's necessary to get the vaccination paid for (note: I was told this, but my health plans pays for me to be vaccinated for anything I want to be vaccinated for. Though I dunno if I could get an Anthrax vaccine. That would probably trigger an alert to the FBI. Anyhow. Squirrel!)
Mandatory vaccination. Will help attain the real herd immunity we need, the one where a good percentage of the population is vaccinated, and we are all protected because the damn virus can't find anyone to spread to.
Not the "herd immunity" that the Republicans love, which is attained by us all getting it and those who don't die won the game.
Basically, what they are saying is that they are fine with "herd immunity" bought by the lives of (mainly) BIPOC. When we have a change at true herd immunity? LALALALALA....
