As I am most years, I am late getting to Target to purchase school supplies. I love school supplies, and would happily buy loads, but I try to limit myself to the stuff I think we'll use.

My usual purchases are index cards (I never know what happens to them, but when I go look for them, there are none) and college ruled composition books.

And every year I have to find the stash of 3 college ruled books, bottom shelf in the back, behind the plethora of wide ruled.

It's like... dudes. Nobody is buying the wide ruled composition books. Stop stocking as many!

the thing that annoys me about our Target is that school supplies are usually wiped out (and maybe even via clearance pricing) before the first week of school. Then a teacher says "i expect you to use this particular thing" (e.g. 3 section college-ruled notebook) and none are available. And it's not like our school district has a quirky schedule, the state mandates that school start after labor day! [state also mandates that schools provide any required supplies, but that doesn't stop some high school teachers from pulling such tricks] I suppose they are driven by national distribution schedules, but still, it annoys me.
