Botanical terrorism
25 Jul 2020 14:16Maybe not really terrorism, because it's not a noxious weed...
I have much Lychnis coronaria aka Silene coronaria aka rose campion aka mullein pink in my garden. I bought a few pots, one magenta, one whole (var Alba) many years ago and they reseed nicely.

I bought magenta and white, and most years I get a lot of magenta, some white, and a few of those weird hybrid looking ones with eyespots. Imagine that, right? Some years I get very few white.
Anyhow. Several of my neighbours have plots of it as well. There area six houses that have these, with four I think easily accessible without too much trespassing.
All of theirs are magenta. I've been watching for at least three years.
My evil dark idea: gather white seeds from my white plants and toss it in their beds.
Botanical terrorism.
I won't, but it's making me laugh, and I am SO very tempted. They'd have to wonder where the whites came from.
