Do I tell him?
19 Jun 2020 16:21Linnea's second to last CS assignment was to solve the Eight Queens Puzzle. She managed to get, I think, 6 on the board before she was stumped. She left it at that.
Of course Perry, who was nearby, saw what was going on, and asked for the puzzle to be explained to him. Dh did. Perry said he wanted to try it, and went to his room to grab a notebook with grid lines.
Within a few minutes, literally, he had a solution.
Dh's immediate thought "He looked it up!"
About 10 minutes later, he had 5 solutions, so no, he'd not looked anything up.
He's been working on 'em off an on here and there over the past few days.
He has 12 solutions. The twelve solutions.
Do I tell him he has them all, or let him keep on looking for #13?
To be honest, if I or dh looked carefully, some of his solution are probably symmetric, so he probably has more of the basic ones to find, but I know Perry controlled for that at least in part since I heard him mumble "Wait, that one's just symmetric" followed by a bunch of erasing.
LOL.
