I wonder....

I wonder how it will be when libraries come back online. I mean, I'd not be too thrilled to go browse books, and I think it'll be a while before I want to. I guess I'd borrow one if I really wanted to read a physical copy, wipe down the plasticized cover if that's ok, and let it sit in quarantine until any virus would be dead-on-paper.
Most of the aisles are not six feet apart, so I could see that being a problem for circulation.
And what the heck do you even do with fun, bright, colourful, germy kid area?
Will people ever come back, to read, to browse, to work on the computers, to check out books, or will this a gigantic push towards digital from which libraries will not recover?
It makes me fret to think about. I love libraries.
