So these COVID-19 things in Washington state are happening just a few miles from me, the deaths have been at the local hospital etc. Whatever, right?
The school district is developing a plan, of course. The email we got last night said that school was open today, but if parents opted to not send their kids, it would be an excused absence. School will be closed tomorrow so teachers can develop a plan as to how to conduct instruction online if necessary. School theoretically resumes Wednesday.
Needless to say, parents on twitter were all over complaining about that... and a few students, who seem to have thought that school would most certainly be cancelled and neglected to do their homework.
Linnea is at school today, to her horror, disgust, and dismay.

No, really, we don't want her dead. We just think that a) this shit has been circulating for 6 or so weeks around the area, without Public Health picking up on any unexpected uptick in serious illness or deaths and b) as long as she washes her hands and doesn't lick doorknobs, she'll probably be ok.
