There are two European trips I want to make this year... and I have to see if I can persuade my spouse that they're both a good idea.
AC found a cool little railway in Wales that does a Race the Train event. That would be 15 Aug. It's a steam train. Dh loves steam trains. There are several other small steam railways in Wales.
So my idea for a trip: take Icelandair to Manchester via Reykjavik, spent a week in Wales seeing railways, and well, Wales, then head home... with of course a layover in Iceland. :)
Then the other trip is over the winter: the two anniversaries we celebrate are our personal one, when we started dating (12/12), and that will be 30 years (OMFG), and our wedding anniversary (21/12) and that will be 24 years. I want to go to Finland or Norway. Via Reykjavik would be fine (cheap flights to boot), but if not, directly to Oslo or Helsinki.
We'll see. We're getting some of the money that we put out to pay for all FIL's final expenses back, and while that money is technically supposed to go back into investment accounts, we didn't get a vacation last year.
We'll see. Most likely this is just me dreaming away cold days!
