Why oh why?

Why is that that the cat that gets mats is the one who shreds you when you try to brush her, and is very impatient (and armed) when you attempt to get the mats under control?

Ugh.

I need dh to hold her down in a towel while I do some trimming, but he's reluctant. Yeah, I know, I get that. I am too. But the mat is getting bigger, despite the daily bits of maintenance and manual de-matting that I am able to do.
