Few things in life that don't affect my life directly have the ability to engross and... pull me in, as a space landing/take off/whatever.

I just watched the Insight landing, live from JPL, and I feel SO lucky that we can see all this.

It's landed -on Mars!!!- and it appears to be happy. We have a picture of its front view, and it's talking. OMG.

And you know that it has already happened as you watch it!

So cool.

And administrator from JPL/NASA/whatever, thanks for ruining it by mentioning scumface Pence. Fuck. Bleck.

Texting with dh and the kids all through. That's also cool.

Anyhow, I'm coming off of the tense high.

Eeek! Yay for space exploration!

Also... read this morning somewhere on twitter: Mars is the only planet in the Solar System entirely populated by robots.
