This is probably going to end up being long.
My initial bias is that if a Republican is speaking, they are lying. And that if they can't win without it, and at times even if they can, they cheat.
1. Voter ID, or you can't have it both ways
The Right screams at the idea of OMG, government ID. That the gummint might issue an ID card valid is right up there with the OMG black helicopters in terms of what they're afraid of.
OTOH, they're really big on requiring ID at the polls. ID that costs people money, and that to obtain requires documents that they might not have or might have a difficult -or expensive- time getting.
So now we have those fuckers on the Supreme Court agreeing with the vote suppressors in North Dakota that requiring street addresses for voters is ok, which of course, just happens to impact... Native American voters, who are more liable to have PO boxes, since the US Postal Service doesn't deliver mail to rural tribal lands. So yeah. Racist disenfranchisement. Typical Right Wing move, and it will probably result in the Dems losing that Senate seat.
2. Secretary of State overseeing his own promotion?
And then we have Georgia. Where the fuckhead secretary of state is running for governor and is busy purging the voter rolls of mainly (read: 90%) African Americans, to attempt to win against... an African American woman. There truly should be something in place to prevent cheating when a secretary of state is in the running for a promotion. Because yeah, most of us don't get to grade our own exams, or cheat to make sure we win an election.
I mean, this is the same little slime that tried to close voting locations in African American districts preferentially.
Anyhow, it's pretty clear that the Republicans, if they can't gerrymander a district into a winning one for them, or or stuck in a state-wide election, with just flat out cheat by suppressing the votes of minorities.
They are filth.
