If you ever thought....

I hadn't seen it before. It was pure Miyazaki, beautiful, and fluid, and heartbreakingly moving. He shows growth in characters, the deepening of their understanding of the world in a way very few others even, and that includes authors of written works.
It really does make Avatar look like a cheap re-mix.
In other bits... I finished The Warrior's Apprentice by Lois McMaster Bujold yesterday. It's the first of the books on Miles (as opposed to the ones on his parents), before The Vor Game which I already reviewed. I am still hesitating as to letting the kids listen to this one. There are some tough, emotionally painful bits, some sex talk that is a bit beyond what Perry at least is ready for, and I'm not 100% sure about AC. I'll review in full if we do let them listen (won't be for a while, we've got Catching Fire of CD right now). Again a vote for the reader of the McMaster books. He's flat out awesome. His voice has made my crush on Miles even worse. Heh.
