Not so great on the final.

Sigh. They rowed a strong race but placed 4th. Linnea is going to be devastated. She is the last person to be put in that boat and is going to feel responsible, since they were the highest ranked 4 in the Western division before this regatta.

The V8 she was in before wasn't doing great, but Coach made some changes in the past few weeks so I suspect some of the rowers in the 4 were swapped out for rowers in the 8. The 2V8 she'd been in consistently over the past few won as well.

She isn't the slowest rower, to be clear, but it's often a matter of balancing starboard vs port rowers.

Three things for Sunday

1. On Friday morning he drove up to Brentwood on Vancouver Island for a regatta, taking a whole bunch of teenagers (and signed and notarized statements) with him. This involves, of course, a border crossing and a ferry. Today, he is coming home. The van needs to stay at the boathouse overnight. So we need to pick him up at said boathouse. They waited 4 hours for a spot on the ferry. Then 2 hours at the border. He's not back to Seattle yet, and I'm tired.

I'll finish this tomorrow. He just texted he's about 20 minutes out.
