Three things for a Windy Monday

1. We are so going to lose power this evening. The cold air is on its way down from Canada and there is a wind
advisory. It's supposed to be wicked cold the next few days. We shall see.

2. Since Congress (really, Republicans), other R judiciary "originalists", and NRA-fellating state officials have decided that preventing the killing of Americans is not, in fact, a priority, we need laws put in place to start compensating the victims. There should be no 'Go Fund Me' campaigns for funeral costs. The government at all levels should pick up the cost of the funeral, work to ensure that the families get counseling and certainly replace lost earnings for at least the next decade in the case of a wage earner. Children should have their education paid for. Etc. It will not bring back the dead person, but as of now, the society who allowed the R dominance that has created this reality needs to pay up. We can't just keep on this way.

3. The kids went back to Bellingham today and instead of doing something for the rest of the day, dh and I just... wandered around, not getting anything accomplished etc. It's kinda sad. I mean, we'll be fine tomorrow, but the day they leave is always a bit rough.
