Sick with relief
17 Jan 2023 01:03AFAIK everyone is ok.
But.
OMFG.
Woke up to a pound on the door. Took me a few seconds to open my eyes and figure out that was what I'd heard.
Saw in the small space beneath the bottom of the blinds, a person leave. Amazon, if they are delivering overnight, which they should not be, does not whack at doors at almost 1am.
Dh -I woke him up- checked the Ring cam. If was a King County Sheriff car.
Heart stopped for a few seconds, before sheer panic.
Of course my brain went thtere, that they were coming to tell us about a dead child.
Oh god.
But no.
Dh went outside and walked to the gate, where I guess the sheriff was parked at the top of the hill. Apparently our neighbor saw/heard someone and called them and they came to check things out.
They looked around and found nothing, this is unincorporated King County, we typically wait over an hour for a response so anyone would have been long gone.
I'm still feeling nauseated, and it'll be a while before my heartrate slows back down to normal.
